Medical Tattooing

In some cases, a person’s appearance may be permanently changed due to medical conditions or accidents, prompting them to seek ways to alter or improve their look. One such method is medical tattooing, which is a highly advanced technique similar to cosmetic tattooing. It falls under the plastic reconstructive industry and is considered a subsector of medical aesthetics. It can help individuals with conditions such as cleft lip, areola restoration, and hair loss by restoring symmetry and simulating eyebrows. Our team is here to guide and support you throughout the medical tattooing process, bringing you closer to achieving your desired look and happiness.

Microblading

Microblading is an advanced manual method of cosmetic tattooing or micro-pigmentation. At Celebrity Permanent Makeup Studio it is performed using a very fine, sterile, 100% disposable hand tool to deposit pigment into the dermis.

This method is ideal for anyone wanting to enhance the look of their eyebrows. The results are natural-looking, hair-like strokes, regardless of the amount of natural brow hair present.

Microblading is a multiple-step appointment process. For best results, our new clients are scheduled for one Enhancement Session. This session will take place approximately 8-12 weeks after the initial procedure to perfect the shape, color, and density of the brows. Some of our customers may choose to have additional Touch-Ups in the future to achieve desired results.

The eyebrow color intensity will be significantly darker and sharper within the first few days of the procedure but fade significantly (approximately 30-50%) over the healing period.

Results and longevity vary greatly from person to person. However, we recommend a Touch-Up annually to retain the ideal shape and saturation of pigment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Microblading (also referred to as micro stroking, Eyebrow Embroidery, Feather Stroke Brows, 3D Brows, micro pigmentation, etc) is the process of manually implanting color pigment into the dermis, by means of tiny, sterile, disposable needles to produce the appearance of hair strokes.

With the sudden popularity and media attention to the term microblading, many are led to falsely believe microblading is not a tattoo process. THIS IS FALSE. Permanent cosmetics, “semi-permanent makeup”, micropigmentation, dermal implantation, microblading/microstroking, eyebrow embroidery, and long-time/long-lasting makeup, are all different names for the same procedure – cosmetic tattooing. Any time pigment is placed into the skin with any device, it is a tattoo process. This is defined by many well informed regulators, the medical community, and dictionary sources. Denying this process is a tattoo can be problematic for those who would, for religious or other personal reasons, normally refuse to have a tattoo.

Those who want to effortlessly look their best anytime. Busy moms, business women or anyone with an active lifestyle.

Most definitely NOT! Please do not tweeze, thread, wax or modify your eyebrows in any way for as long as possible, and no sooner than two weeks. The beginning of your service includes a brief consultation, followed by shaping and finally a discussion about color. Your regular brow maintenance off tweezing, threading, waxing and/or tinting may continue once the brows have healed.

The discomfort is relative as everyone has a different level of sensitivity. An pre-numbing anesthetic is applied for numbing before and during the procedure. Every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable for the duration of the procedure. Our clients are usually pleased to discover that it is no more painful than tweezing or threading.

Pre-Care Instructions are designed and MUST BE STRICTLY FOLLOWED to limit bleeding and skin sensitivities during the service. Excessing bleeding and sensitivity during the procedure will dilute and expel the pigment color and lead to poor results.

* Having this service performed during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort during your procedure.

* If you are a frequent smoker or “sun worshipper” the topical anesthetics used during the treatment may not last as long and also can lead to poor retention and poor lasting results.

* If you have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, be aware that this may affect your sensitivity tolerance to the procedure.

It is normal to experience minimal swelling and tenderness immediately following your procedure. This usually subsides within a few hours. The first week following your treatment, the pigment will appear much darker than how it will appear once it has healed. Around the 1st or 2nd week post procedure, the skin naturally exfoliates and sheds. During weeks 4-8 when the skin completes healing, you will see the pigment become more visible. An Enhancement Session visit approximately 8 weeks after your first initial appointment is necessary in order to achieve that richness of color, achieve symmetry, and density in the shape.

You must be 18 years or older to receive Microblading at The beauty and the blade permanent makeup studio.

As a precaution, we do not perform cosmetic tattooing on pregnant or nursing women.

Microblading is a cosmetic tattoo. The pigment will fade over time and we recommend to get an Annual Touch-Up to keep them looking their best. There is no guarantee in how long it lasts as each individual has very different skin and lifestyle.

Frequency of touch-ups depends on a number of factors including: skin type, pigment selection, lifestyle (sun exposure, smoking, acidic skincare products, etc), iron deficiency (your body absorbs iron-oxide as a supplement), chemical peels, etc.

Please NOTE that final results can not be guaranteed as each unique skin type will hold pigments differently and break down at different rates. We will re-evaluate how your skin has received the pigment at your touch-up appointment and make any changes necessary.

Microblading is a multiple step appointment process. YOUR BROWS WILL NOT BE COMPLETED AFTER JUST ONE SERVICE. For microblading, at least two appointments are needed initially. Each of these appointments is 8-12 weeks apart. At the second visit, we will assess the color retention and make any adjustments necessary. Everyone heals differently and at different rates. If your cosmetic tattoo does not heal perfectly the first time, do not worry! We can always go bolder and add more density at your next appointment. 🙂

Bleeding during the procedure: Excessive bleeding during the tattooing procedure will reduce the amount of pigment absorption. Alcohol and certain medications act as blood-thinners and should avoided 48 hours prior to your appointment. For a full list of what to avoid 48 hours to your appointment click here.

Sun exposure: The sun will extremely soften the look of your tattoo, and may also change the color appearance of the pigment. A physical sunscreen should be used (once healed) to prolong your enhancement. Whenever possible, we encourage our clients to wear hat to protect their beautiful brows (and skin too)!

The choice of pigment color: Some colors may fade quicker than others, e.g. a blonde pigment may fade quicker than a dark brunette pigment.

Lifestyle: smokers, “sun worshippers”, or anyone with skin that is in a state of distress (rosacea, acne, etc) may have less desirable results.

If you are iron deficient or Anemic, your pigment will fade sooner and bleeding/bruising may occur during and after the procedure.

If you have an ideal shape and color in mind, please bring a couple reference photos with you to your appointment. You may fill in your eyebrows as you normally would so we may take into consideration the shape you feel most comfortable with. If you regularly get your eyebrows shaped, waxed, threaded or tinted, please refrain from doing so within at least one week of your appointment. If there are any stray hairs that fall outside of our final shape, we will remove them.

If you plan to go on a vacation, it is recommended to plan your trip a minimum of 30 days after the procedure.

We require our clients to avoid any blood thinning medication for a minimum of 48 hours prior to their appointment. This includes Vitamin E, Aspirin, Niacin, fish oil supplements, and Ibuprofen. For full list click here.

Do NOT drink any alcohol or caffeine 48 hours prior to your appointment. (Yes, decaf coffee has caffeine!)

NO Botox for 2 months prior to microblading and No Botox 4 weeks after microblading (We recommend that it’s best to wait until after your touch up heals to get Botox, as an educated injector will take your new brows into consideration when choosing where to inject.)

If you have been on prescription Accutane in the past, you MUST wait at least one year before considering this procedure. Doxycycline users are also encouraged to wait up to 6 months before receiving Microblading.

It is highly recommended that you avoid SUN and TANNING BED exposure for 30 days BEFORE and AFTER your procedure. If you show up for your appointment with a new tan or a sunburn, you will need to reschedule and will forfeit your deposit. As your skin exfoliates from a sunburn, it will take the pigment with it.

Your brows will appear darker and more intense than expected for the first week or so. This will gradually lighten during the complete healing process. Redness and swelling is minimal. You can anticipate your brows being bolder than normal the first few days after your procedure, but no need to go into hiding! 😉

Please review our detailed Pre & Post Care Instructions. It is highly beneficial to follow these instructions to ensure a comfortable healing process and to achieve the best possible results. DO NOT rub or pick the healing area as the color will peel off prematurely, and avoid extreme heat, sweating, and contaminated bodies of water (such as saunas, hot tubs, steam rooms, pools, lakes, and places with hot humidity, etc.).

During your appointment, we will analyze your skin tone to anticipate how pigment colors will heal and fade in the future. We will also mix pigments to ensure the color blends well with your natural hair and skin color. There are some cases, however, where the color may fade to different tones according to the individual’s response to the pigments (like lifestyle and iron deficiencies). Many factors affect these changes. At your follow up appointment, we will re-analyze how your body has responded to the initial color. If needed, special formula alterations to correct the color is made at this time. Your eyebrow tattoo will eventually look softer and have more of a “powdered” look. To keep your brows looking their best, a refresher appointment is suggested every 12 months. Results and preferences vary with each client.

* The color will lighten over time. We recommend an annual touch up to keep brows looking their best. Fading greatly depends on your skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, pigment color used, broken capillaries, iron deficiency, and if any chemical peels were done after your procedure.

* If you are planning a chemical peel, MRI or other medical procedure, please inform the technician that you have had an iron-oxide cosmetic tattoo. Careful application must be taken to avoid affecting the tattooed area.

* If you are planning to have laser treatments, tell your laser specialist to avoid the pigmented area. Laser may cause pigment to turn black.

If you have extremely oily skin, microblading may NOT work well for you. The constant production of oil will cause the hair strokes to heal with a diffused, softer look. Your end result will look more powdered instead of having a crisp hair stroke appearance.

If you are a frequent smoker, your pigment will fade sooner.

We are happy to accommodate consultations for men interested in microblading.

Nano Eyebrows

Nanoblading is a form of semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing that is done with a tiny needle. Depending on where it is being done, either on the eyebrows or the lips, it has different purposes. For eyebrows, nano blading is used to make them look thicker. The ink that is used is pigmented, and the needle is extremely fine so that the strokes look like natural hairs. Not only does it make the brows appear fuller, but it can also be used to change their shape of them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Nanoblading and microblading are alike in many ways, yet there are also some distinctions. The primary difference is that nano blading uses a finer needle compared to microblading, resulting in more exact accuracy and a more natural-looking outcome. Not only that, but the smaller needle also yields less pain and less bleeding. Furthermore, nano blading is also said to produce longer-lasting results, with a maximum of up to 3 years, while microblading can only last for 12 months.

Nanoblading requires two appointments with a makeup technician, who will consult with you during the initial session. Ahead of your treatments, you should abstain from plucking or waxing your eyebrows a week before, as well as consuming alcohol, caffeine, ibuprofen, aspirin, and fish oil supplements 24 hours prior. You should also not have a facial two weeks before, or tan or sunbathe the day of. Additionally, you should avoid using retinol and Vitamin A products one month prior. Before your first session, the artist may do a patch test to make sure you are not allergic to the pigment ink.

Lip Tint

If you’re looking for alternatives to fillers or surgery, Lip Blush Tattoo is a great choice. We at Celebrity Permanent Makeup are skilled at helping you get the lip design, shape, and color you want. The lip enhancement process is done in two sessions and includes a gentle blending of colors so there’s no line of differentiation. This method will maximize the fullness of the lips.

Frequently Asked Questions

* Do not work out 24 hours before procedure.

* NO alcohol, caffeine or stimulants 48 hours before procedure (Yes, there is caffeine in decaf coffee and tea!).

* Avoid sun and tanning one week prior to procedure.

* Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Advil/Ibuprofen 48 hours before procedure.

* Avoid Fish Oil, Primrose Oil, Prenatal Vitamins, Nutritional Shakes (Shakeology, etc), “Hair, Skin, Nail” supplements for a minimum of 48 hours prior to procedure.

* Discontinue Retin-A, and Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) at least 6 weeks prior

* Must wait 4 months after lip fillers and 6 weeks after touch-up. It is possible to have poor color retention in lips that have had collagen injections within 4 months, and within a year of Restylane. There is the risk of pigment migration along the lip line if you have had Restylane.

* Wait six months after a lip implant

* Avoid the following herbs and spices 48 hours before procedure: ginger, cinnamon, garlic, black and cayenne pepper.

***** All lip tattoo clients must contact a doctor for a prescription of an antiviral medication (Valtrex) to prevent a herpes outbreak. Start taking medication 2 days prior and continue for 3 days post procedure.

Please Note: You will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.

During healing, the lip pigments used will revert back to their original state, which is a powder. Lip tattooing does not replace makeup. In fact, it is advised to wear some type of lip gloss to enrich the color tattooed. Lips will vary in color on a daily basis and change color during the day. This depends on if we are hot or cold. Even if we are well hydrated or not.

** Right after the procedure lips normally feel dry, chapped, tight, and tender to the touch. Lips will feel better with each day. Should anything occur that has not been addressed, please call immediately.**

* Take antiviral medication (Valtrex) 2 days post-procedure.

* Apply supplied ointment on lips several times a day. This should be done for at least 14 days post-treatment. Do not allow lips to become dry. This may interfere with healed color. During the day if lips feel dry, apply a light layer of ointment. Make sure to dab on the skin, do not rub in.

* Itching is normal, DO NOT PICK!

* No soaps, cleansing creams, or chemicals on lips. Wash your face carefully avoiding the lip area for 7 days.

* Avoid moisture to the lips such as Hot Soup, Hot Cocoa, or Hot Coffee for 5 days. Drink everything through a straw until your lips completely peel. DO NOT stretch the lips.

* Avoid water on the new pigmented areas as much as possible, in the First 7 days. (when showering, washing face, etc. have ointment on the pigmented area to protect lips from water). Do not stand in front of the shower head when showering.

* Avoid facials, swimming, and or hot tubs for at least five days.

* Before brushing your teeth, seal your lips with ointment first. Put cotton balls in gum areas so the toothbrush will not rub against the lips. No whitening toothpaste (during the healing process). Use a small amount of toothpaste. Take a straw with you to the bathroom to retrieve water to swish with. Do not bleach your teeth while your lips are healing (about 2 weeks).

* You may apply an ice pack (which must be protected with a wet barrier film of paper toweling, towel, or cloth) for 10-minute intervals for the first 48 hours. Ice may be applied every hour or so if desired. Do not put ice directly on the area.

* Do not expose the lips to direct sunlight (tanning or tanning bed) for 4 weeks. This is new skin and will sunburn easily and direct sun prematurely may also cause scarring. Use a lip gloss with sunblock of at least 30 SPF to protect the lips when outdoors.

* Chapstick may be used on the lips after the 2nd week.

* You may wear lipstick after the first week, make sure the tube of lipstick is new.

* Do not bite into greasy, oily, salty, or spicy foods, rather cut them up and place them into your mouth.

* While eating, do not constantly wipe your lips with a napkin or keep licking your lips as this will impede the healing process. DO NOT PICK dry healing tissue or you WILL remove the pigment color!

* Sleeping slightly elevated will help prevent swelling. It’s recommended to sleep on your back on a satin pillowcase. If the pillowcase is not satin, you may also wrap your pillowcase at night and replace it with a fresh wrap in the morning. This keeps pigment from sticking to the pillowcase at night.

* No smoking while lips are healing! (Approximately two weeks)

* No kissing, rubbing, or friction on your newly tinted lips until the area is totally healed or else you will lose tinting (about 2 weeks).

* Avoid Retin-A, and Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) near lips to prevent premature fading.

* Lips may be dry for 3 to 5 months depending on the body’s reaction.

* Color can last up to 3 years

Expect moderate swelling, usually one to three days following the procedure. Scabs will make the lips feel thick. Lips will fade up to 50% after the first 5 days. While healing, the tattoo will look spotty. This is due to the oxidation of the pigment and the redness of the skin. Two or three permanent makeup applications may be required to achieve the desired results.

The following Pre and Post-Care for lips will affect how quickly or slowly you heal. Mature age, poor diet, stress, smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, age, general health, sleep/fatigue. The more fatigued you are the lower your immune system is and infection is more likely to occur. Please get plenty of rest and drink lots of water to hydrate prior to the procedure.

**Please be patient. Cosmetic tattooing is a multiple-step appointment process with a healing time of approximately 6 weeks in between touch-up appointments.

TANNING WILL LIGHTEN ANY PIGMENTED AREA OVER TIME, SO USE A SUNBLOCK 30+ WHEN TANNING. It is best to fully cover your cosmetic tattoo with a hat once you have healed to avoid premature fading. FAILURE TO FOLLOW PRE OR POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS MAY CAUSE LOSS OF PIGMENT, DISCOLORATION, OR INFECTION.

Microshading

In the past ten years, the concept of tattooed eyebrows has changed drastically. The artificial, stamped design of the past has been substituted with a more natural, feathery look. Microblading became a popular option, however, now microshading is becoming the preferred choice. This softer method produces a more natural, airbrushed style that looks like a powdered brow.

Frequently Asked Questions

An ideal individual for this procedure would have sparse eyebrows with a drier complexion. This technique provides a natural look since each line is blended in with the existing hair. The machine is used to create those lines, which are referred to as machine hair strokes or nano hair strokes. People with dry to normal skin usually heal better, resulting in more defined outcomes. For those with a moderate quantity of brow hair, the lines will mix in nicely. However, it is not advisable for those with oily and delicate skin, as the pigment may not stay and the lines may blur over time.

When deciding on the aesthetic of your makeup, you can choose between a natural or more dramatic look. It is important to remember that the outcome of your procedure will appear lighter when it has fully healed, as this depends on the type of pigment used and the depth of implantation. Generally, the hair stroke technique is not as long-lasting as the Powder Brows technique, so it is often beneficial to combination the two.

When using the needle to create a tattoo-like appearance on the skin, the pigment does not penetrate as successfully as when the powder method is used. Often times with the needle, the color will fade quickly and need to be retouched more often. For a longer-lasting effect, the combination of nano strokes and powder with a machine has more successful results than manual Microblading.

It is important to pick a suitable time for the procedure and stick to the instructions for aftercare.

-Give your body time to heal before you go on a trip or to any special event.

-For the day of the treatment, don’t wear your finest garments as pigment could splatter on them.

-Wash your hair, as you will be told to keep the handled zone dry after the process.

-If you are aiming for a particular shape or color, take some photos to demonstrate to your specialist, and remember to have sensible desires.

Shaded Eyebrows

The technique of Ombre brows, which is sometimes referred to as shaded eyebrows, has been utilized for decades, having originated in Asia and continuing to evolve over time. This semi-permanent eyebrow styling method creates a look similar to that of a softly shaded brow pencil and provides great definition and depth to the eyebrows. It is particularly beneficial for women with oily skin or combination skin, or anybody who would normally fill in their brows with pencil or shadow.

Frequently Asked Questions

When using the ombré brows technique, a specialized machine is used to carefully apply tiny dots of pigment into the skin, creating a look that resembles that of a soft shading pencil. This semi-permanent eyebrow styling method is a great option for those who dread the time-consuming process of meticulously filling in their brows. The ombré shading can last for a period of one to three years, meaning the user won’t have to worry about doing much to keep their brows looking great.

Ombré brows offer advantages that don’t exist with microblading, making them a great choice for people with oily or sensitive skin. They don’t require as many touch-up appointments, and they can make your brows appear more full and well-defined. Not only that, but they’re suitable for all kinds of skin, making them a great investment.

It’s possible that ombré brows could remain in the same condition for somewhere between one and three years. That means fewer maintenance visits would be needed to keep the shape of your brows. Nonetheless, that timeframe will differ based on your habits and skin type.

Eventually, you will recognize that your ombré brows are beginning to lighten. When the definition of your brows begins to diminish, you’ll know it’s time for a retouch. You should plan ahead to have a powdery brows touch-up every 18 months to keep your brows looking as great as when you initially received your ombré shading.

Eyelash Enchancement

Those who prefer a more natural look can opt for Permanent Lash Enhancement, which involves accentuating the base of the lashes to make them appear fuller. This effect is subtle and has the advantage of not smearing, running or fading away. It can help shape or even out the eyes, create the impression of more prominent eyes, or change the way the eyes are spaced. It can also enhance or deepen eye color and make them look brighter.

The procedure is done in two sittings. In the first session, the thickness, length, and color of the eyeliner are done conservatively. It is best to have a natural and moderate amount of permanent eyeliner applied for the first session.

Frequently Asked Questions

The instrument which is used to deposit dye is different from the hand-held tool employed for Microblading. The Nouveau Contour Intelligent device delicately places color on the skin to provide a realistic outcome. It is the world’s first computerized pigment tool that boosts the look of delicate, full lashes.

To help with any discomfort, a powerful anesthetic cream will be applied to the area being treated. Many people explain the feeling of this as a “gentle tickle” near the eyelash line. Your eyes will remain shut and the specialist will carefully stretch your eyelids to ensure a flawless result during the process.

The duration of a lash enhancement treatment may range from 90 minutes to two hours. This time frame takes into account the time for the numbing cream to take effect. All treatments are tailored according to the client’s individual features and desires, in order to yield the most optimal results.

Lash enhancement is a great choice for those who desire fuller, darker, healthier-looking lashes, particularly those with naturally thin lashes or medical conditions that induce lash loss, such as alopecia. On the other hand, those suffering from Graves’ Disease or glaucoma may not be excellent candidates. Additionally, those who have had eye surgery recently or intend to have the procedure soon should wait until it is completed. If you have any queries about whether lash enhancement is suitable for you, do not hesitate to get in touch.

Smudge Eyeliner

The smudged eyeliner look is a more subtle take on the classic smokey eye. This look does not have a distinct, definitive line – instead, it is blurred and soft, which makes it suitable for day or night. To achieve this makeup style, the eyeliner must be applied first, followed by a smudging brush or a cotton swab to blur the lines. This look can be done with any color, though usually black or dark brown eyeliner is used.
